No Beige Allowed started with a summer cottage and a mild obsession with finding pieces that actually had something to say.
While furnishing the space, I skipped the big-box route and dove headfirst into consignment shops, estate sales, and secondhand corners of the internet. One great find turned into another, and before long, the house was filled with pieces that had stories, style, and just the right amount of edge. What started as a practical choice quickly turned into a bit of a talent: spotting high-quality, character-filled furniture, negotiating a great deal, and pulling it all together into a home that felt layered, collected, and completely unique.

We are on a mission to save perfectly nice homes from painfully boring furniture. Consider us a destination where great design meets zero compromise. We curate, consign, and source statement, design-forward furniture and household goods for those of you in the DMV who refuse to blend in. Your home should be as bold as you are.
How do we do it? We scour estate sales, consignment sites, shops, and hidden gems for you. The result is statement pieces with character, designer style without designer prices, and a home that's anything but forgettable. We bring color, character, personality, and intention into your space, without blowing your budget or your sanity. Sure. Your walls can be beige. Your furniture has no excuse.

How do you price items?
Pricing is based on condition, original retail value, brand, materials, design quality, and current market demand. We aim to strike a balance between fair value and accessible pricing for buyers, without undervaluing great design.
Do you negotiate price?In most cases, pricing is final. However, we may adjust prices over time if an item has been in inventory for a while. We focus on thoughtful pricing from the start so you're not stuck haggling.
Why do prices change over time?
Consignment items are time-sensitive. As inventory ages, we strategically reduce prices to keep pieces moving and ensure they find the right home.
Do you offer delivery?
Yes. We offer delivery options for most items, including local white-glove delivery for larger furniture pieces in the DMV area.
How much does delivery cost?
Delivery fees depend on item size, weight, and distance. Costs are quoted at the time of purchase or checkout.
Do you ship outside the DMV?
Select items may be available for regional or national delivery depending on size and logistics. If you're outside the area, reach out and we'll explore options.
Can I pick up my item instead?
Yes! Local pick up is often available by appointment. We'll coordinate timing once your purchase is confirmed.
How quickly can I receive my furniture?
Delivery timelines vary, but most local deliveries are scheduled within a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on availability and routing.Do you accept returns?
All sales are final. Each piece is secondhand, one-of-a-kind, and carefully inspected. We encourage customers to review details, measurements, and photos before purchasing.
What if something arrives damaged?
We inspect every piece before it leaves up and coordinate delivery carefully. If an item arrives damaged, please contact us immediately so we can review and resolve the issue.
Can I reserve an item before buying?
We may offer short holds on select pieces, but most times are sold on a first-come, first served basis. Unique pieces tend not to wait around.
